Iaido is the Japanese art of drawing and cutting with a samurai sword in one smooth practiced motion. It is associated with the Samurai of Japan, and is a subset of the overarching sword arts of Japan, or Kenjutsu. This small talk will go into the specifics of what Iaido is and what it isn't, with an emphasis on its relation to modern Japanese contemporary art such as manga, anime, and gaming. Weather permitting, there may also be a demonstration of Iaido.
